The East saw the first Elemental Event on Friday 12th December 2008.
To tackle disparity of region and identify which area needs input most urgently
To broker relationships between RFO’s, agencies, local authorities and other key players
Devise an approach to attract national partners
THEME:
‘Working with local Regularly Funded Organisations to raise artistic ambition, developing new partnerships and to respond to large scale commissioning opportunities in the region in the run up to 2012’
BACKGROUND:
The East is a large and demographically diverse area, with a strong rural demographic.
The region has lots of activity in terms of carnival, mela, festivals and one-off large-scale events, but has no artists of prominence. Examples of activity are, Norwich and Norfolk Festival and Luton Carnival.
